A Boudoir Studio Glow-Up: From a ChatGPT Mockup to a Full-Blown Renovation

This renovation was not planned… and that honestly makes it even better.

It all started with a simple ChatGPT mockup while I was relaxing on the couch. I was playing around with ideas for how I could refresh my studio bedroom—nothing major, just a little change to fall back in love with the space. But if you know me, you know I don’t do “just a little” very well… especially when inspiration strikes and patience runs out.

Fast forward a very short amount of time, and my boudoir studio bedroom was officially under renovation.

Goodbye Grey Walls 👋

I’ll be honest: I never loved the grey walls. They were fine—but fine isn’t the vibe for boudoir. Boudoir should feel bold, sexy, elegant, and intentional. So once the paint cans came out, I decided to go all in and paint the entire room black to match the existing accent wall.

And then… because we were already painting… I made a last-minute decision that ended up being one of my favorites.

We added another accent wall behind my egg chair to make that corner really pop—and wow, was that the right call. It completely transformed the space and gave that area the drama it deserved.

One Thing Led to Another (As It Always Does)

Once the walls were done, everything else started to feel… outdated.

So naturally:

A new bed had to happen
Then new nightstands
And if we’re upgrading, we might as well add new mirrors too, right?

The bed and nightstands came from Wayfair, and honestly—part of the order arrived shockingly fast. The bed and first nightstand showed up almost immediately.

The second nightstand, however… tested my sanity.

It took three separate shipments for it to actually arrive. THREE. All while I already had sessions booked and desperately needed the room finished. Stressful doesn’t even begin to cover it—but when it finally showed up, it was worth the wait.

The Final Result: Sexy, Elegant, and So Me

I am obsessed with how this space turned out.

The room now feels so much sexier, darker, and more elevated—exactly how I want my clients to feel when they walk in. And the way the green satin sheets pop against the dark walls? It genuinely makes my heart happy every single time I see it.

I’ve already photographed three sessions in the renovated studio, and I can confidently say it has completely reignited my excitement to shoot there. Every session feels fresh, luxurious, and creatively inspiring.

And this is just the beginning—I cannot wait to try out even more satin sheet colors and keep evolving the space.
